Fibre Mood - MIREYA skirt Sewing Pattern

A skirt with sleeves? Absolutely! Mireya puts a fun twist on the classic skirt: two sleeves are sewn into the side seams and tied at the front – a playful trend this season. Looking for a more classic look? Then simply leave them out. This lined skirt is designed to sit at knee length, but you can easily adjust it to suit your style. Mireya also has an elegant overlapping vent at the back and a concealed zip fastening.

Fabric recommendations:

Mireya, with its sleeve ties, looks best in drapey fabrics with a touch of structure. Think wool (in a check, perhaps), double crepe or a soft twill with some body. For the version without the sleeve ties, where the fabric takes centre stage, you can really experiment with materials and textures. Try statement fabrics such as metallic-coated textiles, lightly quilted fabric, tweed, faux leather or suede, fabrics with a brushed or textured pile, brocade, or crinkled and pleated designs — just make sure the fabric isn’t too thin or lightweight.
